Air Compressor Field Service Technician

Industry: Compressed Air
Hourly Rate: $35.00/hr - $55.00+/hr (Highly negotiable based on experience)
Location: Dallas-Fort Worth or Houston, TX (Remote Dispatch)
Territory: Eastern & Central Texas + Gulf Coast (No West Texas / Permian Basin travel required)

The Opportunity

Industrial Recruitment Group has partnered with a leading industrial service organization that operates as a powerhouse in the US compressed air market. They combine the massive resources and stability of a national corporation with the agile, "team-first" culture of a local distributor.

Due to massive regional expansion, they are seeking accountable, "pro-grade" technicians to join their Texas operations. This is a field-based role focusing on high-level diagnostics, maintenance, and complex emergency repairs. While the core team handles everything up to heavy centrifugal work, we are highly interested in speaking with autonomous technicians who specialize in industrial rotary screw and reciprocating air systems.

Technician Benefits & Field-First Perks

• Competitive Compensation: High hourly rates with significant upside. Premium pay is available for master/senior-level technicians.
• Guaranteed Hours: Enjoy complete financial stability with a guaranteed 40 hours per week minimum, regardless of the season or workload.
• Fleet & Tech: Specialized service truck (fully equipped with a crane for large air-end removals), fuel card, iPad, and iPhone are provided and fully expensed.
• Remote Dispatch: Take your service vehicle home and dispatch directly from your residence for field assignments.
• Factory Training: Guaranteed opportunity to attend premium factory training schools to earn advanced certifications on the latest compression technology.
• Specialty Tool Support: All heavy and specialty tools provided; technicians are only required to maintain their own basic hand tools.
• Work-Life Balance: Standard 40-hour weeks with a highly manageable, balanced on-call rotation (only one week every 5–6 weeks).
• Full Benefits Suite: Comprehensive corporate package including a 401(k) with company match, premium Medical, Dental, Vision, and negotiable PTO packages.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overhauls & Rebuilds: Perform full teardowns, inspections, and precise reassembly of industrial rotary screw air compressors to factory standards.
  • Turnkey Installations: Set up, pipe, and commission complete compressed air systems, packages, and auxiliary equipment on industrial client sites.
  • Advanced Diagnostics: Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration sub-systems (including desiccant and refrigerant air treatment dryers).
  • Heavy Equipment Operation: Safely operate and maintain heavy-duty field equipment, including truck-mounted cranes for large-scale air-end removals.
  • Customer Advisory: Partner with industrial clients to deliver clear communication, technical solutions, and long-term system reliability.

Candidate Requirements

  • Technical Expertise: 3+ years of hands-on experience servicing industrial air compressors (Rotary Screw and Reciprocating experience required; Centrifugal exposure is a plus).
  • Air Treatment & EPA: Experience working on refrigerated dryers. An EPA 608 Certification is preferred, or a willingness to obtain it shortly after hiring (training support provided).
  • Professionalism: Seeking "customer-facing" technical professionals who take pride in their work, communicate clearly, and represent the brand sharply on-site.
  • Field Readiness: A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are mandatory for regional travel within the assigned Eastern/Central Texas patch.

How to Apply
If you are looking for a team that values accountability, keeps its promises on hours, and offers a clear path to master-level technical training, we encourage you to reach out.
