Rotating Equipment Service Technician – All levels considered

Location: Atlanta, GA

About the Client

Our client is a rapidly growing, premier division of a global industrial OEM specializing in advanced rotating equipment and heavy-duty compression packages. Operating with a tight-knit, collaborative culture, this team manages high-value equipment assets for critical industrial applications nationwide. They empower their specialists with the autonomy to make field decisions, value a strong team culture and actively promote from within.

What They Offer

Compensation: $30 - $42 per hour (DOE) + guaranteed overtime structure (averaging 50 hours per week with premium port-to-port travel pay).

Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k) Match, Company HSA Contribution and profit-sharing bonus packages.

Career Growth: Defined rank structures with clear paths to leadership positions (e.g., Shop Foreman) across multiple global business divisions.

Relocation Assistance: Comprehensive relocation support packages available for the right specialist.

What They Do

This is a hybrid position offering an attractive 30/70 balance between hands-on local depot maintenance and nationwide field travel. You will perform diagnostics, root-cause evaluations, and precision rebuilds on specialized low- and high-pressure industrial machinery packages.

Key Responsibilities:

Depot & Field Support (70/30% Split): Perform complete package assemblies, start-ups, and overhauls within the local facility, balanced with traveling to client sites across North America to execute field services.

System Diagnostics: Inspect and troubleshoot integrated controls, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and PLCs on active machinery.

Customer Advisory: Function as the technical expert directly on-site with facility personnel, diagnosing operational issues and advising on preventative care.

Advanced Assemblies: Interpret General Arrangement (GA) drawings and electrical diagrams to integrate instrumentation, gauges, switches, and custom control panels.

On-Call Rotation: Participate in a balanced, phone-based troubleshooting support rotation (approximately 1 in every 4 to 6 weeks) assisting clients remotely.

Technical Profile & Requirements

Experience & Background: Ideally we are looking for 3 to 5 years of direct experience servicing industrial rotating machinery, heavy-duty compression systems or specialty pump packages.

Electrical/Controls: Proven competence with 480V systems, industrial electric motors, wiring, VFDs and PLC troubleshooting.

System Knowledge: Prior exposure to multi-stage machinery or high-pressure industrial packages is highly desirable (candidates from pure compressed air, pump, power generation or fluid power sectors are welcomed).

Travel & Logistics: Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time across North America.

Flight-Ready: Standard travel is flight-based with port-to-port hours fully paid. Must possess a valid Driver’s License and a current US Passport with a clean driving record. Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.

Education: High School Graduate or GED equivalent; Technical/Electrical Degree or military equivalent preferred.
